We all know that movies about Greek Gods and Avengers are known almost all over the world. Some of the movies about Greek Gods are Wrath of the Titans (2012), Hercules (2014), Percy Jackson Movies, Immortals and a lot more. While the Avengers has its own movie title Avengers as it is. There are also Marvel movies wherein avenger heroes are the main character, such as The Incredible Hulk (2008), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and the list goes on.
The Greek Gods represent humanity at its best and worst, from violent and destructive Ares to the beautiful and seductive Aphrodite. They can be seen in Greek Mythology which is a set of stories about the gods, goddesses, heroes and rituals of Ancient Greeks.
The Avengers are a fictional team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics and they are labelled as the “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes”.
Similarities between Greek Gods and Avengers:
Loki, knows as the God of Mischief is similar to Poseidon the God of the sea, earthquake and horses. Poseidon was always looking for a way to increase his strength, and Loki was always looking for a way to outshine his brother, Thor. Loki and Poseidon were also susceptible to being enraged. Finally, Poseidon wielded his trident similarly to Loki wielding his staff. Both instruments provide them with tremendous strength.
Iron Man, the Armored Avenger resembles Hephaestus the God of fire, blacksmiths, craftsmen, and volcanoes. Hephaestus is the blacksmith of the gods. He can make anything the gods need. Iron Man is equipped for making almost everything. His adjust conscience, Tony Stark, is a well off business man that has brought in cash off his creations. The image for Hephaestus is his hammer, which can likewise be said for Iron Man due to his "handy-man" and engineering abilities.
Thor, the God of Thunder can be compared to Zeus the God of the sky and thunder. In spite of the fact that Thor isn't the king of the gods, he has a great deal of influence over what The Avengers do on Earth. He is the only character that is a god (from Norse folklore). Since he is a god and has characteristics more prominent than that of his friends, he has the capability to be the "king" of The Avengers, particularly with the given circumstance in the film. Furthermore, Thor also has power over the sky like Zeus.
Captain America, the alter ego of Steve Rogers resembles Prometheus, a Titan God of fire. Prometheus was willing to give people anything they needed to get by on Earth and to secure them against the Gods, like fire. Likewise, Captain America, or Steve Rogers, is consistently there to serve individuals. He puts others before himself, similar to Prometheus who gave himself for the improvement of humankind. Both are strong and bold contenders which are not terrified of the results of their courageous activities.
Hulk, the alter ego of scientist Bruce Banner is similar to Hades the God of the underworld. When Hades would get angry, he would erupt into a terrifying monster like the Hulk. Hades lives in his own world, and the Hulk attempts to live in isolation so he doesn't hurt individuals. Hades was said to be horrendous, but not evil. The same thing can be said for the Hulk. He doesn't have insidious goals, but can be overbearing sometimes.
